MS3 Clue #3

Here's my MS3 stole so far. (The white thread running width-ways is a lifeline at row 150.) If you see something that looks a little whack-a-doodle, that is because there are a few whack-a-doodle things going on here. I pinned and stretched this sucker to see what it would look like at 20" wide and blocked. The stitches really do pop out nicely, and 20" actually seems about right for my stole width. Doesn't it just figure: When gauge doesn't really matter; I get gauge!!

I'm still mulling over whether I'm significantly bothered by the, shall we say, "nonconformist stitches" (?) to rip back 45 rows and fix them. Currently I'm leaning toward "eh, screw it."

Here's a close-up. I really like how the size 6 beads show up, although I think the #8's on the edge are almost invisible.

I think it looks lovely. It took your mention of it and a few minutes of careful search to see what you meant about it being whackadoodle, if that's any help. Glad to hear you're doing the 6/0 and 8/0 the way you are. I was trying to figure out if anyone else was doing this, and how it was working out. I'm finding about the same thing you are, even more so because my 8/0's very closely match my yarn, while the 6/0's are darker. Still, I think I like it. The edging is pretty subtle as a result, and less likely to be pulled out of shape by the weight of the beads. Hope you find you like it too! Looks beautiful so far, and I LOVE the red!

I would vote for "It looks fine so leave it!" You have done so much of it I think I would cry if I had to rip back that far. Really it isn't very noticable to the non-knitters eye and plus it is your own creation! No one said we had to be perfect.... although your stole comes very very close to it. It really is beautiful. I love the colorway.

I love the yarn, love love love it! Read through some of your previous posts to the original MS3 to find out what kind. Should have known it was skinny crack yarn!!
Great blog, got you bookmarked now!
Thanks, Rowan
I've got several mistakes from clue 1 in my shawl. I'm leaving them, battle scars! Endearing flaws!
